Fairy Fencer F is an upcoming turn-based RPG developed by Compile Hearts under their Galapagos RPG brand. The game features a few familiar faces from the Final Fantasy series, such as Nobuo Uematsu and Yoshitaka Amano working on the music and concept art, respectively.
Fairy Fencer F places players in control of Fang, a "Fencer." Fencers are those who have obtained a special weapon known as a "Fury," remnants from an ancient battle between an unnamed goddess and vile god. They created these weapons and imbued them with their own godly energy along with the life force of a fairy to aid in their battle. Ultimately, the two sealed each other away into a great unknown, leaving their weapons to be scattered across the world.
Fans of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series will be pleased to see that Fairy Fencer F features an evolved version of the game's combat system. Weapon Points are earned through battles, and they are used to customize your characters. Players will also be able to overpower enemies with Air Combos, which deal massive multiple attacks, and decimate those in their way with Avalanche Attacks, which hits all enemies.
Players will be able to unleash their fury when Fairy Fencer F launches later this year. If you can't wait that long, try to tide yourself over with this trailer!
