So a panel entitled “Worst Website Ever” sounded pretty intriguing and as it turned out, it was. The idea was to have a contest for folks to come up with the worst website idea ever, something that lacked a good business plan. The prize would be $1 million dollar, fake of course. Competitors included an image search for the blind, a company that would disseminate press releases to paid bloggers who would promote them, the Happy Net Box, which would insert another website into your website, PeopleIPO, where someone could sell stock in themselves, Sickr, where you could track which of your friends was sick so they don’t infect you, FlockdUp, a social network for “thought leaders” and finally MMOmmerce, where you could buy real-life items while inside of videogames.
The ideas were pretty funny and well designed, at least as far as the laughs were concerned. FlockdUp actually won, although I found that pitch a bit too hammy. The panel was highly creative and a lot of fun and showed just how many wacky ideas are out there floating around. |
