Arnie (Kevin McHale) and Brittany (Heather Morris) are dating and are a very odd couple. They have their ups and downs, but I really do like them together! In a very sweet episode, we find out that Brittany still believes in Santa, which isn't really shocking, but her request of Santa is one that not even the Glee Club can pull off. It's going to be a true miracle if Brittany keeps her faith in Santa this year. Of course, that's what Christmas is for. Sue's (Jane Lynch) role in Christmas is really perfect for her.
Kurt's (Chris Coffer) dad, Burt (Mike O'Malley) and Finn's mom, Carole (Romy Rosemont) get married in a very Glee wedding. Of course, Kurt has to teach both his dad and Finn to dance for the wedding. Kurt has a wonderful time planning the wedding, but he's still being harassed at school. The guys in the Glee Club try to help, but it doesn't do any good. He finally makes the decision to leave McKinley and go to Dalton academy where no one tortures each other. Of course, at Dalton Academy, Kurt is going to be a small fish in a big pond, but then he's got Blaine (Darren Criss) there and Blaine is just too adorable. With Kurt gone, they need yet another member of the McKinley Glee Club. The new girl that Puck (Mark Salling) brings in is Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) and in one of the biggest (and most unrealistic) shocks of all, Puck falls for her. I love Zizes and her attitude. She truly loves herself and doesn't care what anyone else thinks, which makes it pretty obvious why Puck has a thing for her, especially after she even takes Santana (Naya Rivera) down. Of course, she's not going to make it easy for Puck, and he's definitely not used to that.
In a funny move, Sue marries herself, making that decision when her ex Rod proposes to his co-anchor. We get to meet Sue's mom finally, and Carol Burnett plays her. I must admit, Sue's track suit wedding dress is quite unique. Sam (Chord Overstreet) is dating Quinn (Diana Agron) finally. Of course, she's going to be a lot more careful this time around to make sure that she doesn't get pregnant, which is a bit frustrating for Sam at times. Once Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) break up, Finn wants Quinn back. Quinn is going to do whatever will propel her to be top of the food chain at the school again, not to mention she's planning to win prom queen and needs the best guy to do that with. Santana starts off the season sleeping with Puck, but as Puck falls for Zizes, Santana is left out again. Santana is going to go after Sam when he's free (or really before) as she wants whatever she can get. Naturally, Santana is holding in a secret that might just shock all.
Thanks to Emma (Jayma Mays), Will (Matthew Morrison) decides to change up the list and makes Sam and Quinn the leads for sectionals and to feature Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) and Brittany dancing. This upsets Rachel majorly as she doesn't even have a solo this time. Instead Santana gets the solo, which I think is great. Santana can really sing and doesn't get to show off her talent enough. New Directions ends up tying with The Warblers, so they're both off to regionals. Of course, Sue is going to try her best to stop them from winning regionals! Rachel and Finn end up breaking up after Sectionals and things are going to be tense between them for the entire season. When tensions get even worse between the Glee Club and the football team, Bieste (Dot Jones) and Will join forces to make them get along better in one of the most entertaining numbers of the season, even for someone scared of zombies like me. While all this is going on, Sue is dreaming up even more dangerous stunts for the poor Cheerios. For once, she actually pushes Brittany too far, which I didn't think was possible, and Brittany, Santana, and Quinn quit Cheerios! That's something I never thought they would do, but it's nice to see them as normal students not wearing a cheerleading uniform the entire time. I think that "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" was even more entertaining than the "Rocky Horror Glee Show." I have never laughed so hard as I did at the end of "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" when the zombies take the field. After Sue's defeat, in a shocking twist of fate Will has to convince Sue that life is worth living, and she's even meaner than normal. Her way to get back at the Glee Club this time is to go coach their rivals and drive them to beat McKinley. To combat this, the Glee Club decides to do original numbers at regionals. Hopefully, that will be enough to take them all the way to Nationals in New York City!
There are so many wonderful songs and episodes in Season Two, but Puck's cover of "Fat Bottomed Girls" is probably my favorite one of the season, but then I do love that song and I love Puck's voice. Other hilarious episodes include Rachel's party, which is quite entertaining after Rachel and everyone else gets drunk, during Alcohol Awareness Week. I must admit that Lea Michele and Darren Criss both do an amazing job of being drunks. Gwyneth Paltrow makes a few guest apperances this season and she's awesome.
The sound is amazing. When you're watching Sectionals and the Warblers sing "Hey Soul Sister," you can really hear every part of the harmony completely surrounding you. That one song is the most perfect example of what great sound should sound like! For some reason, all of the Warblers' songs stand out more in the surround sound than any of the other groups. Play Season Mode is pretty nice as it will play the entire season non-stop! I think my favorite feature is the "Glee Music Jukebox." In it, you can play just the songs from the episodes either in order or on random if you want to be surprised.
I watched all of Glee when it originally aired, but I was still just as addicted watching it for a second time on Blu-ray. It's just that good. You find yourself totally caught up in the plot twists and the drama of all the relationship changes. I highly recommend that you all go pick up Glee: The Complete Second Season today!
