Ray Gillette (Adam Reed) finds himself newly crippled following Archer’s rescue and has to make his way around ISIS in a wheelchair, at least for now. Meanwhile, Malory decides to make Cyril (Chris Parnell) an agent, much to the chagrin of Lana (Aisha Tyler) and the rest of the team. Oddly enough, he turns out to be pretty good, but loses a Canadian terrorist placed in his care while the team is transporting him by train. On the upside, Cheryl (Judy Greer) owns the train and she and Pam (Amber Nash) have decided to come along for the ride. The downside is her crazy pet ocelot has escaped and is running rampant on the train to Archer's horror.
Archer gets a few big thrills this season. One, he gets to meet his Hollywood idol Burt Reynolds, but is disgusted to find out he is dating his mom. Second, he receives a tricked-out spy sports car for his birthday from Malory, but just like when he was a kid, Archer can never take good care of his toys, so he must be taught a lesson. Lastly, after a wild night of passion with what he thinks is a gorgeous stripper, Archer declares he has had the best sex of his life. As it turns out, beer goggles + Pam = mental scarring. Despite his disgust, he just can’t stay away from Pam and this causes plenty of trouble for both Archer and the team when he keeps ditching work for a quickie with her.
Ray gets a blast from the past when his younger brother gets in trouble with the local sheriff (voiced by Michael Rooker, The Walking Dead) and Ray and the gang must come to his rescue in the Deep South. Malory has her share of troubles when her current lover, the Italian Prime Minister, gets very dead in her apartment and she enlists the team to help prove her innocence or snow job the cops, whichever works best. Archer’s dead fiancée Katya makes another appearance, as an experiment in Dr. Krieger’s (Lucky Yates) lab. Can Archer love a robot? Sure, if she’s as sexy as Katya, he can! The season wraps up with the team getting blasted into space when there’s a hostage situation on the Space Station. As it turns out, nothing is as it seems and once again, Pam and Cheryl have stowed away. Pam realizes the severity of the situation, while Cheryl just wants to be queen of the Martians. So what’s new?
Archer: The Complete Season Three is just as hysterical as the past two seasons and will bring plenty of laughs for any fan of the show. It’s just as rude, crude and lewd as always, but it’s what makes the show work so well. Special features are funny and include the three-part "Heart of Archness" episode arc uncut, along with a handful of silly extras like Archer trying to make a book on tape, a new cooking show by Archer, a movie trailer for Gator 2 (Archer’s idea, naturally) and a featurette on Season 3 from Comic-Con 2012. Lastly, there’s commentary on a handful of episodes. It’s all funny stuff and fans will eat it up.
Archer and company continue to make us laugh hysterically and Archer: The Complete Season Three is no different. We marathoned the show in one night, quite simply because we couldn’t stop watching. It’s good stuff, so if you missed last season, snap it up since Season 4 has just begun.
