"The Snuke" is a parody of the series 24, where Cartman alerts the government to a possible terrorist attack taking place at the Hillary Clinton rally in South Park later that day, meanwhile, "D-Yikes!" themes itself after the movie 300 where Mrs. Garrison gets fed up with men and decides to become a lesbian (yes, the irony is very thick). But when Persians buy up the girl bar she starts hanging out in, it's up to her and 30 lesbians to stop the invading gaudy owners.
One of my favorite episodes in this season was "Night of the Living Homeless" where a bunch of bums suddenly appear in South Park. The population relentlessly asks for brains... I mean change. The whole episode takes a zombie slant to the increasing homeless situation, eventually leading to a group of adults holding up on top of a mall and the kids re-fitting a bus to steer the homeless out of the Colorado town.
This season also pokes fun at The Da Vinci Code, Guitar Hero (an episode I personally like) and Bono of U2, but it also has quite a few episodes that step away from current affairs and are there just for fun. "La Petit Tourette" shows what happens when Cartman learns about Tourette Syndrome, while "Lice Capades" shows what goes on when South Park Elementary comes down with a lice problem.
But what this season really has to offer is the three-episode special "Imaginationland", which was recently released on DVD on its own. In Imaginationland, the boys get taken to a magical world where everything anyone has ever imagined is real. But when terrorists invade and threaten to blow up our imaginations, the boys will have to team up with the U.S. Military in order to keep the evil dark parts of our imagination from running wild. What I love about these three episodes is the way the show manages to cram in tons of obscure references.
While probably not the best season of South Park, Eleven has a good number of good episodes that will please any fan of the series, plus, there are bound to be one or two specific episodes that should appeal to people who aren't normally fans (like anyone who likes zombies, 24, or has something against Bono).
