Oh boy. This game really delivers when it comes to the gameplay department. The plotline is basic fare. Us against them - the aliens, of course. But this doesn't really matter. What does matter is the fact that throughout
Incoming, you are in command of various vehicles in one the most fun space shooters around. Basically, it's a shoot-em-up that requires some thinking. During some 60 levels (6 scenarios with 10 mission each), you'll control either a helicopter, a surface craft (tank type thing), an aircraft or a gun turret. You may be defending a base, attacking an enemy fortified area or just on a kill-em-all mission. There's a handy H.U.D. at your disposal to aid you in your missions, as well as scads of cool weapons upgrades as well. Just buckle up and follow that way point marker, as it will always tell you where you need to go.
Also, you can opt to play in either Arcade mode, where you can battle it out in any area for practice or a quick fight, or Campaign mode (more fun), where you wage a full-on war with storyline and all. There is also a 2 Player mode where you and a friend/enemy can fight one another for supremacy of the skies... or land or gunship, as the case may be. It's a split screen mode with 2 choices of game types. Defense Force, where one will defend a base, the other attack, and Body Count - duh. He who kills the most, wins. Fun, but by far, the best is Campaign mode for the single hero, uh, I mean player.
