Don’t let the above fool you. Gameplay of
Rally Challenge 2000 is pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good. There are many modes of play, including Arcade and Championship Modes. You will have your choice of cars, all with different attributes. Find the one that you like and stick with it, as you will have to learn its precise steering. A cool feature in the game is that if your car takes on too much damage, you will notice the effects. If you feel your car swaying to the side, you’ll have to compensate throughout the rest of the race.
Rally Challenge 2000 also has a 1-4 player mode. As Nintendo 64 has moved through the ranks, 4-player games have stood the test of time. The only thing bad is that the framerate seems to hunker even in single player mode, even though the game doesn’t seem to have all that much action on the screen at any one time.
