If you’ve played
Half-Life 2 or
Doom 3 then you virtually know what to expect from the single-player experience of
Quake 4. You and your fellow soldiers will have to take on a variety of creatures throughout your journeys deep into the heart of all disaster. In the same way that the previously-mentioned games have non-player characters giving advice and pointing you in the correct direction, so do they in this fourth edition of the
Quake franchise.
The difference-maker in Quake 4 is that you’ll have squad-mates. While you will typically go through most areas solo, you do have a great backup squad that can truly help you take out baddies. The key is that you need to keep your team alive, because you can use them a lot. In your team (when you have one), you’ll have a medic to heal you of your wounds, and also a technician that can replenish your armor.
Of course, Quake isn’t Quake without the multiplayer experience. And of course, the masters of multiplayer at id Software deliver. Fast-paced action and non-stop thrills keep Quake 4 as one of the elite multiplayer games available.
